I loved your site, especially the pictures of the doxies. I have just acquired a black & tan female, 6 1/2 yrs. old, retired champion from a friend of mine who had gone into the hospital for tests. She was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and passed away 3 weeks later. Her only concern was to find a good home for her little Sassy. I already had two small maltese, but I couldn't resist this sad little face & her unique personality, so I adopted her. I love her to bits!! As a plus, she & her 2 step-sisters get along fine. I am truly blessed.

i luv doxies they are the cutest dogs in the world!!! I used to have one but it went to doggie heaven on april 4 2000. However, i am getting two more in a couple week, both girls, one brown and one black. The brown one is puddles, and the black one is prissy. I will send in pics once i get them! other than that i have a puggy (im also a huge pug fan) and a really cute mutt named tobi. he is small and you have to groom him very often. if anyone wants to talk about doxies please e mail me!!! oh yeah bo bo you are soooooooo cute, please e mail me, and when i get my puppies i will let you talk to them!!!!!

I have a 6 month old double dapple male dashound and I'm looking for information about breeding. I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not. Several people including my vet think I should breed him because he is so very unique, but I bought him for a pet, unknowning he was so special. Any thoughts?

Hi there... I would like to post that I am now forced to give up my two miniture dachsie's. I was recently diagnosed with Cancer, and the treatments are causing increasing fatigue and I just cant give them the care they need. I would prefer to place them now, instead of having to turn them over to a shelter or worse later on. Chloe is a black and tan female, a year and half old, and is personality plus. Dozer we recently rescued, after he was abandoned. He is now 12 weeks old, and a real love bug. Both are used to being indoor pets, and are good lap warmers. They love to cuddle and spend most of thier time playing together. All of thier supplies are included to thier new home. Please feel free to email me if you live in the central valley or Stockton area of California and would like to meet them. we will not ship them, and we will inspect thier new home to verify they are going to someone who will love them as we do.

This is the GREATEST website!! I found it looking for memorial markers for my precious "Corky". I had to have him put down July 16, 2001. He was 17 years old and his health was failing fast. I had always told him that when the time came I would NOT have him suffer. I still carry guilt of maybe I should have pushed for further treatment. But coming to this website has given me much comfort. I may even get a doxie (or 2). Thanks BoBo for this wonderful website. Great site. Was cruising for information for my daughter's speech. I have had dachshunds for the last 30 years.We always had a couple. I think they are the best dogs in the WORLDI have an 11 year old standard longhaired one right now and expectinga mini wirehaired in about a months time.My long hairedis called Extra Easy, but we call her Exy because she used to get out on us and we weren't going to call "exrta easy come here" around the blockShe has had to take insulin shot everyday for the past 4 years. She is doing well, but we almost lost her a year ago to a back injury but she recovered. We did lose our minature wirehaired to a similarinjury, we tried everything even acupuncture. My husband and I have 2 mini-dachshunds 1 red male (Willie)he turned 1yr on Jan 17, 2001 and we have 1 silver dapple female(Roxie)that is only 7 mos old. We had to bottle feed our male from 1 day old, the mother died the day after she gave birth. Thankfully all 5 puppies were given to the people that were getting one and they all lived. My husband and I enjoy them very much. I personally would love to have 10 more but my husband would not appreciate it very much. We already are very cramped in the bed at night with 2 dogs and a kitten I found on a roof that I had to bottle feed as well.Ironically, they all love each other, I think the kitten thinks he is a doxie too. They play great together. They all play fetch. It is so funny to watch them when they are all chasing each other. The kitten (Oscar) gives them everything he's got. Everyone, ENJOY YOUR DOXIES!!!!!!!

Hi to everyone, I really have enjoyed reading all the notes and looking at the pictures of your doxies. I have had 3 doxies. Each one worse then the other. Bow was my frist short haired red dachshund. He would set in the chair and let me know when my son woke from his nap, Very protective of me and my son. Sissy being my fatties one of all. She was a dear. We got her when she was 4 weeks old. Had to feed her all night long. She became my baby long before i even had a child, Bow was her father. When we moved to Germany. We had to leave her with my in laws. Needless to say they wouldnt send her to Germany, Claiming it was the war zone. Which was not. When we returned in 84 from Germany. I told my mother in law, she has kept her for 4 years. I couldnt bare take her away. Well, Sissy wasnt going to hear of that. I started my car up. Lord and behold. She jumped in the car to go with us. Not even looking back..LOL Now this brings me to my Rusty. He was my worse. His loose was really hard on me. He was more then just my pet. He was with me 24-7. He thought he was human. Slept with me, he would set up on his hid legs and beg for me to pick him up. I miss him so much. I leave his blanket out on the sofa. It makes me feel that he is still around. Thank you for let me visit this sight. There is so much i could say about my Rusty. We have two red smooth doxies. One is a 21 lb. male (Rusty) that is 6 years old. The other is a 5 lb. female that is about 13 weeks old (Roxanne) and she is adorable!! We call Rusty the million dollar dog after his back surgery in Feb of 1999. He is good as new now. He is our only son.

Hello. I have a friend who has a mini dachshund. She had it bred with another, but how is she to tell if it worked or not? She has asked me to find out about how she can tell if it is truely pregnant and if it is, how long will it take for her to have the puppies and what she should do now. You have a wonderful webpage & a beautiful tribute to your animals. I unfortunately lost my companion over the weekend. Felicia was a 5 yr old chihuahua. I had to put her to sleep due to liver failure and other complications. Thank you very much for brightening my day with your pictures. I'm positive that the family members you have lost have been joined in heaven by Felicia, and they're all playing and having a wonderful time. Happy Thanksgiving.

I have a male cat(8 years old) who is named Bojangles, and my husband Tim and I have nick-named him Bo-Bo also! We also have another cat, Bosley(12 years old), better known as Ba-Ba and our Cocker Spaniel, Lauren(10) who responds to La-La....my husband and I do not have kids, but as you can see love talking baby talk to our "children"!

Hi Bo Bo! Loved your site. We have a 4 yr. l/h black and tan doxie named Ziggy (aka Punkers, Zigster..etc). He always makes me laugh, except when he makes me angry! Do all doxies think they're in charge?...just wondering. Despite his yappiness he brings great joy and happiness!

Your site is really great. I am owned by a very protective red, smooth mini-dachsie named Tia. Tia is just 1 1/2 years old but has definitely made her mark in my heart. She is a non-stop, playing machine. Her favorite toy is a worn, mini soccer ball, and anything else she can gets her paws on. Dachsies are definitely the best!!

I think it is really funny that you have a long haired dachshund named Beauregard, because so do I. My Beauregard is 8 years old and is a cream (or blonde) long haired dachshund. My family and I also have two red long haired dachshunds: Buddy and Scarlet.

I have two longhaired dachsies,Heidi, a red 4 yr old tweenie and Chester about 4 (we think) male adopted from Midwest Animal Shelter after being rescued from euthanasia in the last hour.
